And if you are not happy then we must endeavor to select people who you are satisfied with. The Federal Government will work hard to make sure everything happens in the right way, the treaty that was signed in Addis is a huge responsibility for us to fulfill, we are witnesses for the Somali people wherever they may be, and it’s not exclusive to a particular region, clan or community. We are here to work tirelessly for peace; we cannot achieve anything without peace because it is the starting point for everything,”

That’s the only way that we will bring unity and peace in Somalia; if we uphold Somalia above everything. By helping your government, you are helping yourself. STORY

The Jubba Reconciliation Conference has ended with expression of fresh commitment to ensuring peace and security in the Jubba region.

The 3 day conference that kicked off on 04/11/2013 drew together 200 delegates including traditional elders, Islamic scholars, business people and government officials from Lower Jubba, Middle Jubba and Gedo; the three regions form the Jubba Interim Administration

Delegates at the conference agreed to support ongoing reconciliation efforts and ensure that security is boosted and maintained in the Jubba region. They agreed to an operation to comb out the Al Shabab from the areas they still control in the region, this being implemented by the Jubba Interim Administration, the Federal Government and AMISOM.
Speaking during the conference, the President of the Somali Federal Government H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud pledged the commitment of the government to ensure that everything agreed upon is implemented.

The conference was also attended by the Ethiopian Foreign Minister, also current IGAD Chairperson Tedros Adhanom, who called for unity among all Somalis if long lasting peace is to be achieved.
